It's the last Music Monday of 2013. Soon, we will be watching the ball drop and welcoming in 2014. With the year I've had, 2014 can't come soon enough. There is a lot of 2013, that I would rather never think about again, but, there were also some good things that will stick with me; including these songs that would always get stuck in my head.
So, here you have it, the songs of 2013 that stand out for sticking around. Whether you love them, or hate them, they are tunes that get stuck in your head, and we heard them over and over again in 2013.
I have to start with this song. Not only did it always manage to find it's way into my head on a constant repeat, but when I first heard it at her concert earlier this year, I felt like it could have been written for me, because of things going on in my life at the time. But, many of her songs speak to me that way. So, start off this list with Pink and Nate Ruess from Fun; "Just Give Me a Reason".
No intro needed for Robin Thicke and "Blured Lines" don't worry, this is the clean version.
After a heartbreaking divorce, Katy Perry came back with this uplifting song "Roar" showing that we all have some fight left in us.
I know I've had this song on here a few times this year, but that's just because it was in my head a lot! Here's Thrift Shop.
We can't have a 2013 song list without including Miley! After all, she was this year's master of publicity. Like her or not, she knows how to stick out. Here's Miley Cyrus with the young anthem "We can't Stop"
There you have it, the songs of 2013 that always got stuck in my head. Enjoy
Have a great week and a happy new year!
What songs stood out for you in 2013?
Well, I knew all of them except your Thrift Shop... Miley sure has changed hasn't she? Oh well anyways HAPPY NEW YEAR! YOU DEFINITELY ROCK!
ReplyDeleteOh Miley...
ReplyDeleteAnyway, you and I were right on with Pink, I thought of the other two as well but decided I needed to get them out of my head. Thanks for putting them there again. LOL
Happy New Year!
Just Give Me A Reason by P!nk is what I often hear, and it truly is my #LSS Last Song Syndrome :) Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
ReplyDeleteExcept for Pink I think I have heard the others way too much already.
the pink song i have heard approximately 34902434 times so far. and now it's in my head again LOL
ReplyDeleteYup, same here! I love that song by Pink.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Thrift shop is still one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteEven when MTV played MUSIC VIDEOS, I still was horrible about watching them - thanks for making me feel like I'm caught up!
ReplyDeletei can say I've never seen the Pink video, bummer because i love her. the others though I've seen way too much
ReplyDeleteI love that Katy Perry song, Roar! Did you see the video floating around the internet of the kids in the hospital singing it? It was so powerful!
ReplyDeleteNo, I missed that one. I'll have to search for it when I get home. She is definitely inspiring to a lot of people. I'm sure it's awesome!
DeleteAll those would be on my list too! My girls jam to some Blurred Lines! I like Katy Perry's Dark Horse song too!
ReplyDeleteWould you believe I don't know any of these songs? I mostly listen to classical and folk music. You're right about Miley though. If nothing else she knows how to stand out.
ReplyDeleteI like Classical and folk music, too! They just don't get as much play time to stick in my head. lol!
DeleteGreat list! That Thrift Store song is crazy and definitely sticks!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your 2013 music list. It is fun to learn about a person through the music they enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHa! It looks like we had most of the same songs playing in our heads. That Miley is a mess but I just couldn't get her songs out my head.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. Miley, Miley, Miley. *shakes head* But, she's young and living it up, I only hope she doesn't look back on it with regret when she's older.
DeleteThis makes me feel like I haven't listened to the radio enough because by name alone I don't recognize the tunes. I need to get with it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your 2013 music list. Looks like you have a lot of songs playing on the radio all day! (Like Liz, I"m not familiar with them, though...)
ReplyDeleteAwesome list - I for one love 3 of them....even though I'm in my 50's!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's the beauty of music, it has no age limits. I love music of all generations, and raised my children to do the same. Good for you for keeping your ears open. :)
DeleteI am familiar with the artists, but not the songs. I prefer rock music, and really love anything between 1990-2004
ReplyDeletePretty sure I've had Thrift Shop playing in my brain non stop for a couple months! Love the beats!
ReplyDeleteBlurred lines was in constant rotation on the station I listened to. Great list!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how many times I've heard those songs at the most random places this year! I'll admit to listening to a little Miley over the past month. Great list!
ReplyDeleteApparently my radio wasn't on enough this year, because while I've heard of most of those songs, I couldn't tell you any of the lyrics of almost all of them. I'll have to watch the videos so I can feel more with it!
ReplyDeleteThose are better than the song I have had stuck in my head for a week. My cousins' daughters sang a song from preschool that I can not get out of my head at all!
ReplyDeleteWe searched hi and lo for a edited "Thrift Store" song my kids love it and of course Katy's "Roar"! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeletegood choices for songs of the year i love Blurred line but then again i'm a huge Pharrell william fan to the boy is genius
ReplyDeleteIts so funny to read this because instantly songs get stuck in my head. I think I'll be humming for the rest of the night! Too funny!
