If you want a great snack for the holidays, try making Mexican Hot Chocolate Chex Party Mix. It's also quite yummy and what's a celebration without a great party mix?!
My daughter and I recently mixed up a batch of this easy to make sweet cinnamon snack mix when she came home from college. General Mills sent me this special recipe and all the ingredients I needed to make this holiday treat.
Recipe and coupon savings are below.
I get really into the holiday season. I love baking and cooking, especially with my oldest daughter. Spending time in the kitchen is one of our favorite things to do. We don't always have time for long involved recipes so making Chex Party Mix is great because it only takes a few minutes and it tastes so good.
Here's everything you need to mix up a batch of your own in only 15 minutes.
Just measure your Chex cereal and pour into a microwave safe large bowl. If you look close you can see my dog watching hoping to get a bite of his own.
You then melt your chocolate chips together with the sweetened condensed milk and butter in the microwave. Once it's boiling you stir in your cinnamon, and pour it over the Chex cereal and stir until it's all coated.
You will then have to microwave it all for 3 minutes before adding your coconut and marshmallows. I recommend letting it cool a bit before adding the marshmallows so they don't melt. After it's all mixed together, just pour it onto parchment paper to cool.
Next, try to keep yourself from eating it all before it's even finished cooling because this is a really great treat!
Look for in store savings at your local Publix, because when you save money the recipe tastes so much better.
