A letter to Blogland

Dear Blogland Friends,

It's hard to explain to people in real life how much a bond can be developed on the web. To say you blog, results in looks that would be given to someone with 3 heads. Yet, over and over I say it with pride: "I blog." And, even more often, I say, "one of my friends, online..." to which my 3 heads multiply.

Today, more than normal, I want to scream from the rooftops, to let the world know what an amazing group of people you are! They should know how you've joined together to create support for one cause after another. You are always ready with a kind word, when sometimes that's the one thing that is needed. From Monkey to Daffy, and all the others, you have all shown your love.

While much of my mind is on my daughter, and hoping that she just has Mono, and that she gets to feeling better soon, I can't help, but think about all of you out there. You have made me cry, and laugh, and, sometimes scream with rage, but mostly, you've filled my heart with pride. I am proud to be part of such an incredible community, a community of strangers that have come together as friends. And, so I thank you all for being you, supporting one another, and letting me, just be me.

  1. People that don't blog...just don't get it. And they probably never will unless they start their own blogs. It's really incredible, and they are just missing out :)

  3. Mommy, you are so right!

Thanks Ian, I have to admit that you were my main inspiration. I was already
on the edge of tears with waiting for the news of my daughter when I read
your leter to Daffy, and it put me over the edge. Then I realized that
leters like that are a reason to smile. It's so sad what everyone has to
deal with, but the unity of support helps make it so much more bearable.

  4. for the record: I so, know how to spell "letter" (see 2 t's) I originally commented from my phone, and it has a sticky "t" button (which I should know to check but didn't) and maybe yall didn't notice, but I did, and see, I have this spelling thing, so, I couldn't just pretend I didn't see it. :o)

  10. I have met many wonderful people through blogging - I have blogged off and on for several years, but only in the last year have I gotten into the Parent Blogs (I've only been a parent for 4-and-a-half years though). I like to see people that are into music; I feature a video every Monday on my blog, but I like how you incorporate songs into most of your posts.

I am following you from Friendly Friday Follow - I know it's Saturday, but yesterday was very busy. Thanks and I look forward to seeing you at http://cakeblast.com:).

  11. I've been blogging for a few months and I have to say I never got it before I did it. I feel like my blogging is a reflection of who I really am...not the surface shot of me. I like being able to think about what I say before I say it...because otherwise I'm not always aware of what I really think. When people say your first reaction is your true reaction...I just don't believe that anymore...because your first reaction is often not well informed! That's why blogging is so great!
