Well, Shut My Mouth

I'm not normally a big fan of Mother's Day. It kind of falls into that "Hallmark holiday" category like Valentine's Day. I hate people feeling pressured to buy something, or sad because they don't have someone to buy for.

Normally, I make sure to express my opinion of these days to my family in an effort to let them know they don't have to to do anything for me, it's just a day like any other, but apparently, all it does is spoil the day for them because, really, Mother's Day is not about me. It's about the kids & hubby wanting to have a day to show how much they care. So, this year, I kept quiet, and just tried to enjoy the day. And, what a day it was! ♪ Well, ooh weee, shut my mouth, slap your Grandma♪  (Trace Adkins)

Bear took us to breakfast, (unfortunately, #1 was sick and couldn't go,) then we went home and watched chick flicks all day; Fried Green Tomatoes, (Can you believe I'd never seen it?!, and, no I don't want to eat any!) How to make an American Quilt (Good movie, and again, one I hadn't seen) & 27 Dresses (just #2 and I watched this one since Bear, had had all the girly movies he could stand in one day, and was in desperate need of some manly Xbox time.) ♪ Macho macho man♪  (Village People)

Bear made the best dinner: Grilled sirloin, baked potato, asparagus, corn & salad (I didn't eat the salad because I wanted to save room for more steak. Mmmmm, steak *in my best drooling Homer Simpson voice*)

And, look at the fabulous card #2 made me! I love it!

I hope you all had a fabulous day like I did. And, even though I still don't like these forced holidays, and I think we need to love and appreciate each other everyday, I have to admit, this was the best Mother's day ever! Thank you to my beautiful Daughters. And, to the best man in the world:
♪ I want to thank you for giving me the best day of my life♪  (Dido)

The only problem with having such a relaxing day? Getting up this morning to go to work! I think I relaxed myself right into a coma, because I am so dang tired today! Hurry!Espresso IV, Stat! I think we're losing her!
