Tomorrow morning, my oldest daughter and I will be joining my Krewe for the
Paint Your Heart Out Tampa event. The annual event is our chance to give back to our community by painting the homes of low income elderly within Tampa. I'm excited to be a part of this program, to have the opportunity to help someone fix up their house that wouldn't be able to do it on her own. I'm especially happy to be sharing the experience with my daughter. I'll be sure to post some before and after pictures so you can see the transformation of the house.

It's time for Aloha Friday, where we imagine we're in the beautiful Hawaiian Islands with our feet up, kicked back, just taking it easy because it's Friday. My Aloha Friday question for you:
What do you do to give back to your community?
Answer in a comment below, and head over to
An Island Life for more Aloha Friday questions.
That is so cool you and your daughter are doing that tomorrow! We like to join in on the Habitat for Humanity whenever we can. :)
ReplyDeleteAloha: When the Lights Go Out
I think we are on the same page.
ReplyDeleteTomorrow, pretty much everyone in our church have joined one of the groups to give back to the community. Some will be building homes, repairing homes, painting, sewing, doing gardening, weeding, picking up garbage in communities. sharing food (food drive) clothes ..ooh la la!
I have small children so I've chosen to garden at the Faith home (place for women needing help)
It's a wonderful thing you are doing and even better you get to share it with your daughter.
Aloha!
