Music Monday, Have you heard the Alabama Shakes, yet?!

It's Monday, and that means music! I had a great weekend. Both my girls walked the 5k for Moffitt Cancer Center with me, and on Sunday we went to the beach, then came home and watched Dirty Dancing, and The Vow. A perfect weekend!

Now, let's get this week started!

Up first, is some country. This is an artist that's new to me. I'm grateful to a friend for telling me about this guy. He has a great voice, and this is a real fun song, if you're a classic country lover like me. Here's Ray Scott singing "My Kind of Music."

I expect to hear a lot about this band, Alabama Shakes. They are soulful, bluesy, rockin, southern, and I just love 'em. This is from their debut album Boys and Girls. It is "Hold On" and I just know you're gonna love it!

This video just cracks me up! It starts off just really pretty, but then it gets well, a little crazy. Is it wrong that they remind me of my girls?! My girls don't fight this bad, but those facial expressions! Thankfully they now get along, but there was a time...woo... glad that's over! Enjoy "Sail" by AWOLNATION. and the unofficial video by Nanalew

  1. I'm not a fan of classic country, but I really enjoyed that first one! I've never heard Alabama Shakes - you're right, I do love it! :) And that third video is wild - their facial expressions cracked me up, too. :) Thanks for sharing and playing along! :)

  3. That first song was fun. I really liked it. Well, that second song is really something, and she's got one helleva voice, but not sure if they'll make it in country. I think it's a little more bluzy. Maybe their other songs are better. That last one I figured that wasn't her singing, but dam those facial expressions are something else. YUK! THANKS FOR PLAYING, and those are some really interesting picks! hehehe BUT LOADS OF FUN!

  4. These are fun little ditties. I love Hold On. I always crank it up when it comes on.

I ran the 5 Miles for Moffitt on Saturday. I'm sorry I missed you. Would have been a great photo opportunity!

I ran the race in memory of my Aunt June. She lost her battle with lung cancer two years this September.

  6. The first one reminded me of Johnny Cash for some reason. I have to agree with Dolly on the 2nd one-rather Bluzy.
    That last one...oh my!

  7. I agree Alabama Shakes has that blues, jazzy, southern, rockin' funk going for themselves. It'll be interesting to listen to more of their debut album. I'll be sure to check them out. That last music video is more than crazy. It's totally bizzar! lol Thanks for dancing with the Love Train and linking up. Will be looking forward to a repeat performance next Monday!
