Friday Fragments: It's Free to Give

Mommy's Idea

It's Friday and it's time to get all these fragmented thoughts out of my head.

First, let's talk about giving. It's the season of giving. The time of year when we all look for ways to give back, and to help those in need. I have an easy way for you to help. This, doesn't require you to go anywhere, or donate anything, in fact, it's completely FREE! And who doesn't like free?! See that box up there above this post?! The blue one that says Give Health? All you need to do is enter your email and click to donate water, then verify your e-mail with one click. Each time you do this, P&G will donate a day of water. So, go ahead, click it! In fact come back and click it everyday, because it will be up there for the entire holiday season. ♪There is a season, turn turn turn...A time of peace, I swear it's not too late♪ (The Byrds)

Tomorrow, we are touring another college. This one is Flagler in St. Augustine. I'm really looking forward to seeing this one because it is in the Historic hotel built by Flagler and the architecture is amazing! Then after the tour we will get some lunch at Scarlet O'Hara's and some gelato for dessert! Yummy!!

Hmmm Florida's getting a Legoland on the site of the old Cypress Gardens. I'm not sure how I feel about this. Maybe, if I had younger kids, I might be excited, but I'm just kind of blah on it. They're just building blocks...I don't get it...but, I guess Disney built an entire world around a mouse. ♪who's the leader of the club that's made for you and me?♪ (Mickey Mouse club)

Have you heard of the drink 4 Lokos? It's an energy drink mixed with alcohol, and it's wreaking havoc around the U.S. Recently a couple friends of mine had it and were quickly falling down drunk, and they can't remember a thing about it. And, these aren't women that can't handle their alcohol. It's being called "black out in a can" and "liquid cocaine." Due to recent incidents of hospitalization, many colleges are banning it. It can very quickly become the next big thing for our teens because it is so cheap and it comes in many fruity flavors. I have to admit, I'm interested to try it, but I definitely don't want it in the hands of our teens. It might be a good idea to talk to your teens about the dangers of this drink. ♪don't you know I'm loco♪ (Whitey Ford)

Can I just say how happy I am that election season is over!! I was so sick of commercials of opposing candidates each saying how the other is wrong! Ugh! Just glad it's done!

Anyway, Have a wicked awesome Friday and a fabulous Weekend!

  2. Oh, I am so glad the election is over, as well! Except that now I have to hear about how Nevadians screwed themselves by re-electing Harry Reid... Give it up already!

And I did see a news story about that 4 Lokos stuff. I admit, I'm tempted to try it, too, but that news story was scary, and I have 3 babies to take care of...

Hope you have a great Friday and and even greater weekend!
