Music Monday, Rolling Stones Still Going Strong

Happy Music Monday!

Let's talk Rolling Stones...They are by far, my favorite band. Of course, everyone knows they are celebrating 50 years with a tour this year (which, I unfortunately don't get to see.) I can be happy with knowing that I have seen them in concert during that 50 years. It was in 1989, I was 16, and it was the first concert I went to without parents, and Wow! I was hooked!

After that concert I made my grandmother rent every video about the Stones that I could find at the Video Store (remember those? They seem like an ancient memory, now.) My favorite of those rentals was this.

Of the many Rolling Stones songs that I love, Dead Flowers is my favorite. I would have loved to been in Philly last week for this performance with Brad Paisley. Very cool!

And, this past weekend, the Stones finally performed in Glastonbury. I can't wait to see video from that great event.

Have a great week full of music. Check out some more Music Monday at Xmas Dolly's and...
Keep on rocking!

Enjoy life with all it's music, and don't forget to laugh.

Paying at the Pump, Put my Credit Card in the Wrong Hands

For the second time in 2 weeks, I had an unauthorized charge from my checking account. The first time was a charge to my husband’s card on a fraudulent foreign website for $100. We just completed the process of having a new card issued to him, and having our money returned to us, when I went to use my card at Target and was denied. I called my bank and they informed me that 2 transactions for over $600 each were done on Walmart.com. Luckily, the Fraud department caught it because the address was different. They denied the transactions and put a block on my card.

How could this happen again?! And so soon?!

I immediately started running through any web purchases I had made. Did I buy something on a new site?

Did the bank have a security breach?

What is going on?!

The Fraud rep explained that it is most likely happening at the gas station because the card reader at the pump has been tampered with. He explained that this is how most thieves get your card info, not from shopping online as most people believe.

I thought, 'How can that be? I haven't put gas in the car lately.'

Then, I remembered, My husband borrowed my card because we were waiting on his! He got gas at the same place he always does. Ahem, correction always did, looks like we'll be going somewhere else from now on!

I wish I had known these things to look for before this:

Take a good look at the card reader to make sure it hasn’t been tampered with. Some gas places have stickers to show if the door of the scanner has been opened. The sticker will change colors or say "void" if tampered with. Others, may use skimmers that go over the normal card reader. These skimmers can be pulled off rather easily, so just give a tug on the reader before putting your card in.

If something doesn't look right, use another pump, or be truly safe and pay inside...with cash!

Music Monday, Fun Pop, Weird Miley, and New Country

Happy Music Monday! Let's kick the week off with some fun songs to get us going.

First up, The Remix by NKOTB. I just love this song! It's so fun, and when I hear it, I want to get up and dance. Hubby actually was surprised to say that for the first time he likes a NKOTB song.

This is the latest video from Miley Cyrus. She's definitely not that little Disney girl anymore. I know some people are not happy to see her in this way, and many have complained the video is just gross and vulgar. I just think that's exactly what she's going for. She wants everyone to know that she's grown up and can do what she wants. And, if she were a male hip-hop artist, I'm sure it wouldn't be nearly as controversial. Give it a watch, the songs not too bad, and maybe you can just get a good laugh at some of the silly scenes, (like the guy rolling around in the bread.)

And finally, here's a little Country music for you. I heard this band last weekend at a local charity event. They are a Florida band with a great sound. Check 'em out!

Have a musical week and make sure to head over to Xmas Dolly's for more Music Monday fun.

$500 Whole Foods Sweepstakes

We've been focusing on eating cleaner, and because of it, I'm happy to say both hubby and I have lost weight. He's lost more than me because he's a guy and you know how guys are it just comes off so easy for them. Okay, and maybe I haven't worked out at all as much as he has. But, still...just by getting rid of all those extra chemicals and processed stuff, I've lost 22lbs! I'm happy with that!

What I'm not happy with is how much more expensive to eat healthier, so I would love to win this $500 Whole Foods Gift card sweepstakes! Oh my gosh, $500 would go a long way. So I entered this sweepstakes from Whole Mom. You have to sign up for the Whole Mom newsletter, but it's free, and I have an extra e-mail account specifically for these types of things. Go enter, and let me know if you win.

Mean while, I'll keep working on my budget because mine and my family's health is worth it!

Music Monday, Fleetwood Mac

It's Music Monday. Time to get our week started with some good music. This week, I'm celebrating Fleetwood Mac and their awesome performance in Tampa on Friday night!

There weren't any pyrotechnics or aerial stunts, just really great music packed full of energy...It was perfect. They played all the great old songs, and surprisingly, some new songs. They have 4 new songs available on EP and they sound great.

We were in the upper level, but in the first row, so with no one in front of us, we had a great view and a great time.

Now for some great Fleetwood Mac music to rock our Monday!!

I can't help but get up and dance when I hear Tusk!

Have a musical week!
