Lego Introduces New Marvel Avengers Toys

I'm excited for the new Avengers movie coming out in May. It's sure to be action packed, and I can't wait! One of the best parts about this movie is all the great new toys. If there's one thing hubby and I love, it's toys. Check out some of the new Avengers toys from Lego.

Isn't this the cutest movie poster?! There's just something about Lego that makes even the meanest of characters just adorable!

Watch for these toys coming soon to a store near you.

Summer Clothing From Fresh Produce

Even though it was a Monday, I floated through the day on a sunshine high. I was wearing my new Summer top from Fresh Produce.  It was comfy, bright and cheery, and it just made me feel so good to have it on.

Don't you just love when you're wearing new clothes that are not only cute and stylish, but also fit properly?! Because, it doesn't matter how cute something is, if you aren't comfortable wearing it! That's why I like Fresh Produce.

Wordless Wednesday, Palm Trees and Sun

It was a beautiful morning at Channelside in Tampa. A cruise ship was in port, so there were people buzzing all around, but it was still so peaceful. I sat looking at the cruise ship, wishing I would soon be sailing away, but at least I had the palm trees and sun.

Tuesdays Gone, A Blog Hop for Old Posts

I started Tuesdays Gone over a year ago, because Mondays are so busy for me, so it's hard to get a new post completed for Tuesday. (I can't believe it's been over a year!)

With so many blog posts going up everyday, I'm sure there's some great stuff out there that has just been forgotten, or maybe some stuff that just didn't get much attention the first time around.  So, Tuesdays Gone is a way to bring your old post back into the light. I can't wait to see what you have that I might have missed the first time around.

It's great looking at old posts and remembering those moments when you first wrote it.  What will you be reminded of when you look through your old posts?!

Aloha Friday, Hunger Games

Today is the first day to see Hunger Games in the theatre. 3 weeks ago, I could care less about this movie. It looked like a sci-fi teen love story, which is not my type of thing.  But, my friend was just raving about the books, so I had to give it a try. I admit I was still sceptical so I got the free sample for my Nook, first, and by the time I reached the end of the sample, I couldn't get the book downloaded fast enough! I was hooked!

The Truth Comes Out After 30 Years

I was 7 when I first told a lie. Well, that I can remember, anyway. I’m sure there was the “my imaginary friend is standing next to me”, kind of lie, but those little lies don’t really count, do they? Those are the little lies we tell all the time, like when your friend asks if you like their new shirt, and you think it makes her look like a stuffed sausage, but you lie just a little and say “yeah, it’s cute!” Those types of lies help us to make people happy, that help us get through the day to day little stuff in an easier happier way, a little “white” lie.

But, that’s not the kind of lie I’m talking about. The lie I’m talking about, is not an easy truth to hear, and is certainly not an easy truth to tell, but tell it I will.

I was 7 years old. Like most 7 year olds of that time, I loved to play outside, and at the end of a long day in the Florida heat, I was in desperate need of a bath. I was in the bath when I heard a knock at the front door. Soon after, the bathroom door flung open, and my mother was yelling at me to get up out of the tub. She quickly wrapped me in my bathrobe, and sent me into the living room.

Waiting for me were two police officers. I remember the fear I felt seeing them towering over me in their uniforms with their guns on their sides. What were they going to do to me? I knew what I had done. I knew why they were here. How would I get out of this one? How much did they already know?

Music Monday, Don't Matter Where You Come From

It's Music Monday! This week I'm sharing some new finds, the opening acts for the Dropkick Murphys tour.

This first one is The Mahones. I love their sound, and how cool is the girl playing the accordion?!

New Glow Fusion Bubbles Light Up The Night

Saturday was the St. Patrick's Day parade through Ybor city at night. It's always one of my favorite parades of the year. I knew it would be the  perfect time to try out the Super Miracle Bubbles Glow Fusion and High Beam Illuminator Bubble Blaster.

A Musical Wordless Wednesday

The Dropkick Murphys concert was awesome! The energy was so high, and with general admission for all, we had a great view of the band. I didn't take too many pictures, because I was too busy dancing, but here's the view I had.

Music Monday, Ladies I Love

It's Music Monday, one of my favorite days! Today's theme is songs by your favorite female artist. I really can't pick just one, so I bring you songs by some of my favorite female artists. Yep, I'm bending the rules all wild and crazy like!

I could listen to these ladies all day long. Hell, they could sing the phone book, and I'd listen. They are just full of so much soul! Love 'em!

Aloha Friday, you can only listen to 2 bands ever, who are they?

It's Aloha Friday. Time to Kick back and take it easy! Today's question:

If you could only pick 2 bands/artists to listen to for the rest of your life, who would they be?

My answer, at least for today, this could change tomorrow. I will always say the Rolling Stones, because they are truly my favorite band, and luckily they have such a large library of music, I'd get plenty of variety. And, I think the second would be... Flogging Molly. I just love their sound.  Your turn, who would you pick?

Writer's Workshop, Trashin' the Trash Man

Nothing like getting all fired up over trash at 7:30 in the morning...

We’ve had the worst luck with our trash cans. We’ve chased them up the street on windy days. The wheels have been torn off, the lids have gone missing, and somewhere along the way, we went from 2 cans to 1, and it is barely hanging on. With its bottom about to fall off, we realized we would need to give in and buy a new one. Let’s face it, trash cans are a necessary item, but not anything that’s fun to go shopping for…but, last night we set out on our search for a new one.

3 stops and $25 later, we found the right one, and just in time for trash day.

This morning, it’s GONE!

Wordless Wednesday, Florida Strawberry Festival

It was a beautiful day at the Florida Strawberry Festival.

We walked around, and ate good food including fried Kool-aid, (sounds weird, and I'm not sure how they did it, but it was really quite good.)
Deep fried Kool-aid
And, there were certainly plenty of strawberries!

Music Monday, Dropkick Murphys

Happy Music Monday! It's a super happy Monday for me because I get to go see the Dropkick Murphys in concert tonight! I've never been to one of their concerts, but I'm sure it will be a jolly good time! Here's a bit of what I might hear.

Aloha Friday, Would you feed your pets food from a stranger?

Happy Aloha Friday! Today I'd like your opinion on pets.

The other day, I came home to find a large bag of dog food in front of my garage. My initial thought was that my couponing neighbors next door left it for us, but there was no note, it's not a name brand, and it was already opened. My daughter quickly declared that it’s open food from a stranger, so there is no way we are feeding it to our dogs! (We have a Labrador with a large bark, so her theory is the neighbors poisoned it, to not have to hear him bark anymore.) I have mixed feelings on it. On one hand I think some neighbor may have lost their own dog, (reason why it’s opened) and knew we had dogs so they left it for us out of kindness. But, the other possibility is that my daughter is right. Our dogs are like family. Just like I wouldn’t feed my child food left on the porch by a stranger, I don’t think I want to feed my dogs this food. What do you think?

So, that’s my question of the day: Would you feed your pets a bag of opened food, if you didn’t know where it came from?

Free Disney Tickets?!

We didn’t have much money when my girls were small, but we wanted to make the most of what we had and give our oldest a special 5th birthday. We saved up for months for a day at Disney. We had just enough money to pay for 4 1 park tickets, and food for the day. But, if hubby and I shared meals, we may be able to get the birthday girl a small souvenir of her day. No matter what, it was going to be a special day for her and her younger sister.
We made the hour drive to Kissimmee…parked the car…got on the tram…and approached the gates.

A Disney employee greeted us, “Good morning” she said.

“Good morning,” we replied.

“Are you from Wisconsin?” (My husband was wearing a Green Bay Packers jersey.)
