Writer's Workshop: What is this about?!

It's Writer's Workshop Day at Mama Kat's, but I don't know what to write about.

I could write about the time I put my foot in my mouth, but ya'll don't want to hear about that! It wasn't that big a deal, I just didn't have any clippers around!

I'd write about the experience I had with a celebrity, but after the arrest, I promised I wouldn't speak of our affair again, though I don't know what the big deal is, so, what if I followed him around a little, he loved me, why else would he run away and play hard to get? Those people with the cameras were alwys there trying to snap pictures of us, and it just got too hard to get close to him. And, his feelings for me could interfere with his work, so we had to call it off. So, I won't be talking about that.

But for now, the job that pays me requires much attention, so this post will be short.

I have been back from NOLA only a day, and I fear I am suffering withdrawals from the white powdery stuff. Awhile back, I signed up for a spring swap at Family of Shorts, and I had so much fun shopping for Dysfunctional Mom, but as usual, I was a little late mailing out my package to her. But, don't worry be happy dodododododo don't worry because she e-mailed me to say that she mailed her's out just as late! What a relief!

Writer's Workshop: Sense Much Fear in Him I Do

Aside from the usual fears; alien abduction, clowns, rejection, things that go bump in the night, white shoes with black pants, roaches, *shudders* shower demons, (what, that's normal?!) aside from those, I'm, also, afraid of, Yoda!

Yup the one and only, little green guy, Yoda!   Y O D A,  Yoda yo yo yo Yoda♪  (Weird Al)

Think that weird you do?

Well, picture this: My dear hubby had a life size cardboard stand up Yoda that was proudly on display in the dining room of our apartment. Every night, when I had to go to the kitchen, he was standing there, just staring at me with his creepy little eyes, and his pointy old brittle claws. I would turn the light on before I walked past him going into the kitchen, (the whole fear of the dark thing,) but then, as I was walking back I would see him watching me, just waiting for me to get close enough to claw my leg, so I would quickly walk past him, shut off the light, and then run down the hall to the bedroom, and then try to act normal, like I wasn't just running from a freakin' piece of cardboard!

Then one night, I made the usual trip to the kitchen to get water, and he wasn't there! For real! Where the hell was he? This ain't at all funny, there is a crazed little green carboard alien on the loose!

So, I frantically very calmly ran walked into the bedroom and asked hubby what he did with it, and he said the girls must have taken it. "oh, ok, no big deal, just wonderin'." (no way, was I gonna let him think I was scared of some little piece of paper!) So the girls decided to play with Yoda, that's cool, apparently, they weren't bothered by his steely glare.

The subject changed to other things, as I talked to hubby about my day, and prepared to shower. Midsentence, I pulled back the shower curtain, and there he was! Yoda, was in my shower! I screamed, jumped, got the chills, and ran out of the bathroom, all in one motion, and all while my husband laughed hysterically, at his new found amusement!

It was not funny! It freakin' scared me! What the hell?! I could have had a heart attack, or fell or something!

After that night, I never know where Yoda will show up next, sometimes in my closet, sometimes in my bed.

So, yeah, I'm afraid of Yoda.  Fear him I do.   I met him in a swamp down in Dagobah♪

Stop the Madness

I'm warning you now this is quite the rant, but I could not hold this in, it just had to come out.

I should've known better than to open it considering who it was from, but I couldn't help myself! The subject line read: "It has begun" And, let's face it I'm nosy inquisitive and I just had to know what "it" was.

The e-mail said that if you are a True American you will refuse the new $1 coins because it doesn't say "In God We Trust." It went on to say that if there was ever a time to boycott, it is now!

Since when, does your religious belief have any impact on whether you're American, or not?! America was founded on freedom of religion, and what religion, you believe in, if any, should not matter to who you are as a person, nor, to who you are as an American!

Has anyone noticed the violence happening in our own American Streets?! or the state of our economy?!  ♪people killin', people dyin' children hurt and you hear them cryin'♪ (Black Eyed Peas)

And, what bothers me more than the note itself, is that this person is not a judgemental person. So, why did she forward something so controversial?

Well, she is that friend that "forwards." You know the one. The one, that doesn't check Snopes before sending the note that says stop drinking bottled water because it causes cancer, or that if you forward the same forwarded note, Microsoft will pay you hundreds of dollars. Oh, and the jokes, you can't forget the umpteen hundred jokes that have been sent, funny, or not.

Yeah, that friend. I love her dearly, but she has now become the person that I am hesitant to open e-mails from because they are always something ridiculous, that doesn't even represent who she is as a person!

So, if you choose not to accept the $1 coins as change, it is your American right to do so, but please do it for your own reasons, not because someone somewhere created an e-mail that has been forwarded and reforwarded. ♪got to be your own man, not a puppet on a string♪ (Aaron Tippin)
