Choc-V's Chocolate Vitamins Review

Everybody loves chocolate! It just makes everything better; pumpkin cookies, banana bread, yogurt, all better with chocolate. And, as it turns out vitamins are also better with chocolate.

When Choc-V contacted me to review their Chocolate Vitamins I was a little hesitant because I thought there was no way that a vitamin can taste good. I thought it would be chalky or bitter, or just completely gross. But, thankfully, I was completely wrong!

I tried Choc-V's White Chocolate Probiotic. It was really quite good. Each one is a bear shaped piece of white chocolate. If I didn't know it was a probiotic, I would have swore it was just chocolate. With the many pills I have to take it is nice to have a supplement that's enjoyable.

Along with tasting good, Choc-V's Probiotic has all I need in a probiotic and it has no artificial colors or preservatives.

Choc-V Chocolate Vitamins come as a multi-vitamin, calcium, and the probiotic. They are available at several stores including, for the first time, CVS.

If you're looking for a vitamin that you don't have to swallow whole, and want to have more chocolate in your life, try Choc-V. They might also be a good way to get kids to take their vitamins.

For more info on Choc-V's Chocolate Vitamins check out chocvs.com or follow them on Facebook.

Halloween is for Building Memories

Happy Halloween! I was just talking with a friend about great Halloween memories. From your favorite costumes, to decorating, and those special moments with your kids, all those things make Halloween such a special part of our lives.

One of my favorite costumes was when my mom made me into a baby in a carriage. She used a box around my waste, and blankets to hide my feet. It was so fun because we made it from things we had around the house. I even won $50 in the school costume contest!

Another favorite Halloween memory was trick or treating with my children when we lived in an apartment. Without outdoor lights, it was hard to tell who was handing out candy. We knocked on one guy's door, and he felt so bad about not having candy that he gave the girls pudding and snack cakes. It was so generous of him to do that, and it's something we still smile about, even after all these years.

Halloween is all about the experience whether you're into spooky, or funny, the important part is that you join in on the fun and create memories.

Many people will go to Haunted houses tonight and this weekend, but some of the scariest places in the world are not the staged haunted houses, they are the real haunted places, where the real ghosts and spirits lurk. If this sounds like a place you might want to make memories at check out 7 Terrifying Haunted Places Around the World. If scary travel isn't your thing, maybe you should check it out to make a list of places to avoid. :)

No matter what you're doing for Halloween, I hope it's full of happiness for you and your family.

A Gorilla Spotted at a Florida Gas Station, Werewolf Babies Waiting to be Adopted, and Other News.

Last weekend, my family and I traveled to Orlando to attend Spooky Empire, a horror convention. We had a great time! One of the best things about this trip, besides meeting Patricia Quinn, was that my husband wore his gorilla costume.

My hubby has wanted a gorilla costume for as long as I can remember, but it always came down to gorilla costume or feed the kids, and well...we like our kids so...

But, this year, this year, we got him the gorilla suit! He couldn't be more excited to have it. And, since we were going to a convention where you are encouraged to wear costumes, he decided to wear it... on the ride there!

Of course, we got a few strange looks, but the strangest was when we stopped for gas, and a man walked up and asked if he could touch him! Who walks up to a stranger and asks to touch them?! I mean if you want to know what an ape suit feels like, go to the costume store! People are strange (said the girl married to the guy pumping gas in a gorilla suit.)

A gorilla at the gas pump

The other thing I have to share about the trip, is this adorable little werepup. A woman was pushing this little girl in a stroller as if she was a real live baby werewolf. I stopped her and asked about it, and she told me about the artist that custom makes these little anatomically correct creatures. No one werepup is the same.

Music Monday, I met Patricia Quinn from Rocky Horror!

I'm a little late getting going today with Music Monday, because I spent my weekend in Orlando for Spooky Empire. Spooky Empire is a convention for Horror movie fans. There were vendors selling jewelry, clothing, artwork, toys and more. And, this is the most exciting part, there were people associated with some of the biggest horror movies like Kane Hodder (Jason Voorhies), and Doug Bradley (Pinhead), and even George Romero creator of The Living Dead.

They were all so friendly, but my favorite person of the weekend was the one and only Patricia Quinn! Patricia Quinn, of course, is Magenta from Rocky Horror Picture Show. Meeting her was such an honor! She was so polite and friendly. She even said she liked my necklace (I made it!). What an honor!

Artsy Crafty Fashion Magazines and Ribbon, A Self Portrait

I just finished my midterm project for my Understanding Visual Art class. And, just in time for the due date on Wednesday. I'm not much of an artist, but I'm happy with how this turned out.

It's a collage self portrait! It looks just like me!

Ribbon hair, a face made out of words, some pretty sparkly blue paper (just because it's sparkly and I wanted to do something with it,) and what else would you make teeth out of, but some pretty little pearls!

Thank goodness I have a thing for fashion magazines and had all this material laying around, because hubby had to do one, too!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip Paired with Harvest Pumpkin Tortilla Chips, Perfection!

Have you ever tried something and just thought "wow, this is good, but it would be perfect, paired with (insert pairing here)"?

That's exactly how I felt when I tried Food Should Taste Good's Harvest Pumpkin Tortilla Chips. They are so good, with a light touch of cinnamon and nutmeg but, I just knew it would be perfect with chocolate chip cookie dough dip. So, I made some!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough dip with Harvest Pumpkin Tortilla Chip

I was so right! The perfect combination of sweet and salty! It's like they were made for each other! (yes, there's some love songs dancing around in my head right now)

The chocolate cookie dough dip is also good with graham crackers and apples. And, because I had some of FSTG's Sweet Potato Chips in their special pink bags for Breast Cancer awareness, I tried that and it was good, too. Heck, this dip is even good straight from the spoon! But, really, you have to try it with the Pumpkin Chips...Seriously, it's yummy!

Here's the recipe for the dip:

1 8oz package cream cheese softened
1 stick butter (1/2 cup) softened
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 cup powder sugar
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp all purpose flour
1 cup toffee bits
1 cup milk chocolate chips

In large bowl, cream together cream cheese and butter, stir in sugars, flour, and vanilla. Mix until smooth. Mix in toffee bits and chocolate chips. Serve chilled.

I mentioned Food Should Taste Good and their special pink bags of chips. I have to say that I love their products, and had already tweeted about how great their pumpkin chips were with the cookie dough dip when I received a surprise package from them with 2 bags of chips. This year, they are donating $100,000 to help find a cure for breast cancer. That's just one more reason to love them! Find out more about their products and their efforts to fight breast cancer at FoodShouldTasteGood.com

disclosure: Food Should Taste Good provided me with 2 bags of chips but I was under no obligation to post about it. All opinions expressed are my own.

It's Monday, and that means music! Let's get our MusicMonday on with some songs that are bouncing around in my head right now. These are the songs that I hear in the morning and they just seem to stick around all day.

First up, Still into you by Paramore.

An added bonus to this song is that the video makes me giggle, and ladies, doesn't this describe your marriage...you love him and want to slap him in his "whole face" at the same time. Here's Pink with True Love.

And finally, the lovely Lana Del Rey with Summertime Sadness.

Fifth Estate, Interesting, but Probably Not Worthy of the Big Screen

Fifth Estate is opening in theatres today. It's the story of WikiLeaks, and it's founder, Julian Assange (Benedict Cumberbatch). The drama shows how WikiLeaks started, the impact it had around the world, and what led to the largest leak of confidential documents in American history.

The movie is just okay. It allows you to see another perspective on what happened besides what the American media reported. It does bring some humanity to the infamous WikiLeak website. Cumberbatch does a great job playing the 'I'm going to save the world, but I want to be recognized for it' character of Assange. Also, the movie isn't completely bias. The writers have left it for you to decide if Assange is a hero or traitor. In fact, it's as though the director wanted it to feel like an information leak about information leaks, almost a documentary. But, there's just not a lot of "Wow" to this film. There's no "oomph!"

Miley Cyrus Targets the GOP in Her Latest Video, Now That's what I Call a Role Model!

If you missed SNL last night, you missed Miley Cyrus taking a little time to laugh at herself, and the republican party. Miley may have been the subject of controversy recently with her less than lady like behavior, but in the whole big scheme of things, does her behavior matter much when our United States government can't get their act together?!

Who's more at fault here, a young adult who likes to sing and do a little twerking now and then, that has never said she wants to be a role model for American youth.
or
A group of public officials elected to work for America, that can't seem to understand that their job is not just about what their party wants, but what is best for the country, and every decision they make impacts real people?!

Um, yeah...nice role models, there, Washington!

So, here you go, the latest hit from Miley Cyrus and the SNL cast, We did Stop takes a look at the behavior of the Republican party, and all their wisdom of throwing a temper tantrum called government shutdown, when the very thing they're fighting against, (ObamaCare) is not impacted at all by their decision!
But, what do they care, they're still getting paid!

Cheap and Easy Halloween Decorations

Halloween is my favorite holiday. With all the great decorations out there, it would be real easy for me to go broke, so in order to afford the really big pieces, I have to find ways to save on the smaller items. Here's an easy and inexpensive decoration.

I found a couple of greeting cards that I like, and simply framed them in dollar store frames. The look is great and the price was perfect!

Check out the cards at your local store, you might just find something worthy of framing for Halloween or any holiday!
